The Savage 93R17 BVSS is one of the most accurate factory .17 HMR rifles you can buy, and it has a decades-long following among varmint hunters for good reason. The BVSS pairs a heavy 21-inch stainless barrel with a brown laminate stock, giving the rifle the mass and rigidity that lets the tiny 17-grain bullets group tightly at 100 and 150 yards. Savage's AccuTrigger, user adjustable down to a light, crisp break, is a real advantage on a rimfire meant for precision, and the rifle feeds from a five-round detachable box magazine. With a scope mounted, this is a serious tool for prairie dogs, ground squirrels and crows, and the stainless-and-laminate build stands up to seasons in the field.
