The Savage Arms Axis II Pro Woodland is a bolt-action rifle chambered in .243 Winchester with a 20-inch barrel and bronze finish. The .243 Winchester is a classic dual-purpose cartridge, mild enough in recoil for younger or recoil-sensitive shooters and flat-shooting enough for whitetail, pronghorn, and varmints. Savage's AccuTrigger lets owners fine-tune the trigger pull, and the Axis line is known for good accuracy at a modest level. A woodland-themed model like this is a practical pick for first-time hunters and for experienced shooters wanting a simple, reliable rifle.
