The TX22 has been something of a surprise success for Taurus, winning over shooters who expected a budget rimfire and found a pistol that runs bulk ammunition reliably and has a genuinely good trigger. Gen 2 refines the platform with an improved slide, optic-ready cut and updated ergonomics. This is the black 4.1-inch-barrel version in a 10-round configuration.

As a trainer that mimics a full-size defensive pistol's grip and controls at rimfire cost, or as a straightforward range and small-game gun, the TX22 is hard to argue with.
