The Encore Pro Hunter Field in 12 gauge is a rifled-barrel, break-action single shot built for slug hunters, and in shotgun-only deer zones a rifled single shot with a good scope is a surprisingly effective setup. The rifled 26-inch barrel stabilizes sabot slugs for accuracy that smoothbores cannot approach, and the Pro Hunter frame's recoil-absorbing stock and pad take real punishment out of heavy slug loads. Break-action simplicity means one careful, deliberate shot, which is how most shotgun deer hunting works anyway. Handles 3-inch shells.
