Charter Arms has been building compact American revolvers since 1964, and the Blue Diamond is one of the more distinctive guns in the line, with a high-polish finish and black Pearlite grips over a five-shot .38 Special frame with a 2-inch barrel. Charter builds these on a one-piece frame with no sideplate, which is a genuine strength advantage in a small revolver. Snub-nose .38s remain among the most practical carry guns ever devised: simple, reliable regardless of grip technique, and effective at the close distances they are meant for.
