Charter Arms has been building simple, affordable American revolvers in Connecticut for decades, and the Off Duty is their answer to deep-concealment carry. It is a five-shot .38 Special with a 2-inch barrel and a lightweight aluminum frame, which makes it disappear in a pocket holster or on an ankle rig in a way steel-framed snubbies never quite manage.

Revolvers like this remain popular for backup and off-duty roles precisely because there is nothing to fumble: no safety, no slide, no magazine. Point, press, repeat. The black finish keeps it discreet, and the manual of arms is about as simple as defensive handguns get.
