Heritage took the Rough Rider single-action revolver that generations of shooters learned on and stretched it into a rifle-length carbine. The 16-inch barrel wrings far more velocity out of .22 LR than a handgun does, and the combination of a lever-style loading gate, six-round cylinder, and a shouldered stock makes it one of the most entertaining plinkers you can hand a new shooter.

This Tactical Rancher configuration adds a Picatinny rail up top, so mounting a red dot or a compact scope takes seconds. It is a cheap-to-feed, slow-to-run-out-of-fun rifle that turns a box of rimfire into an afternoon.
