Henry's .45-70 lever action is a serious big-bore rifle disguised as a classic. Built on a beefy steel receiver with a smooth lever throw and blued steel against American walnut, it handles the full range of .45-70 loads, from mild cowboy-action fodder to heavy hard-cast bullets that will take anything on the continent. This configuration wears a short 16.5-inch barrel, which makes it fast to bring up in thick timber and easy to carry on horseback or in a truck.

Short-barreled .45-70 lever guns have become the go-to brush and bear-country rifle for good reason: enormous frontal area, quick handling, and no reliance on a magazine.
