A Proof Research carbon-fiber PXT barrel blank in .308 caliber, 20 inches, Sendero contour. Proof's process wraps carbon fiber over a match-grade stainless steel core, producing a barrel with the rigidity of a heavy contour at a fraction of the weight, and with better heat dissipation across a long string of fire. This is an unchambered, unthreaded blank intended for a qualified gunsmith to finish to your action, cartridge and specifications — the starting point for a custom build rather than a drop-in part. Sendero contour gives a smith plenty of material to work with while keeping the finished rifle carryable.
