A 28 gauge semi-automatic is a specialist's pleasure, and Retay's ACE delivers it with an inertia-driven action that stays light and clean. The 28 has an outsized reputation among upland hunters for patterning beautifully and being genuinely fun to shoot, with recoil so mild that a full day afield leaves no reminder.

This one pairs a 28-inch barrel with a walnut stock and a black receiver, chambered for 3-inch shells. For quail, dove, woodcock and early-season grouse, or for a skeet gun that will not beat you up, it is hard to argue with the combination.
