An ultralight 28-gauge autoloader with a 26-inch barrel is about as pleasant as upland gear gets: quick between the hands on a flushing bird, light enough that mile ten feels like mile two, and chambered for a gauge that patterns beautifully on quail, woodcock and grouse. Retay's ACE-R uses the company's inertia-driven action with the Inertia Plus bolt-locking design, which keeps it running cleanly with far less maintenance than a gas gun demands. This Upland Ultralight configuration wears a black finish and handles 3-inch shells.
